Preparing for a storm, trusting God.

For the past two days we have been preparing for a storm at work. Having many meetings with updates on the location of the storm, the strength of the storm and all the preparations that are expected for each department to handle.

And through it all,  I’m happy I have God to trust. I see people being stressed, having mood changes and undeciceble on what actions to take. All of these attitudes are understandable as we don’t know what to expect the upcoming days. However I see a difference in the people that believe in God, I see a difference in myself and this is an amazing experience.

The unbelievers are dealing with two storms: the storm from the outside and the storm they are feeling in the inside. While the ones that trust in God are only dealing with one storm, which is the storm from the outside.

We know that God is in control of everything, we have God to trust which gives us such a peace. However who can the people trust when they don’t believe in God? It is very clear in this circumstance that all the hard work that the unbelievers  are performing, all the material they are buying and every plan they come up with Does not give them any assurance or peace. If they would only know how amazing this peace that God is giving his believers is, I think they would never want to turn back to their old lifes of unbelieving.

We are all dealing with the same one storm, however we are definitely going through the emotions differently – Praise the Lord.

Psalm 91:7 King James Version (KJV) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Proverbs 3:5-6King James Version (KJV) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I don’t know what the outcome of the storm will be, however I do know that I can trust God to take care of me and my family and I know that I can trust God to take care of our Island.

God is in control of everything, nothing happens outside of God. Nobody can do anything if God does not agree with it or allows it.

Lamentations 3:37King James Version (KJV) Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

I will end my blog post with Isaiah 41:13 King James Version: For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

We have an amazing God 😊

God loves you much ❤️

  1. “Peace be still” to the outer storm and also the inner storms in those who struggle. It is so true that those who do not believe handle things very different than those who have Jesus. God bless you and keep you safe in His hands!

  2. This reminded me of one of my Favorite verses from the Book of Mormon:

“Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.” (Ether 12:4)

    1. Thank you Joice Lizabeth for your comment, I always ask God to let my posts help people that need it. I have gone through several events in my life myself, however I have discovered that the best peace there is, is God. The funny thing is that every time when I thought I could not handle it anymore God would send me someone that needed my help emotionally, at the moment I would not really understand how could I help someone get up when I was down myself, however that has helped me get over many things in life. This reminds me of verse Isaiah 55:8-9 King James Version: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. This is so true and when we trust God and allow him to work through us, God will heal us like nobody else can. May God bless you greatly and be with you every step of the way.

      1. Thank you for the encouragement, I’m also amazed at how sharing my story has helped someone who is in the same place I’m in. Those experiences helped me to understand that we are here to do God’s work, yes you say it better “allow Him to work through us”. Just doing so has helped me to start healing. God bless.

  4. I truly believe that no matter what religion you practice or what the name of your higher being is. We all need something to fall back on. Mine is God, I am RC and I know he is always watching. Nothing goes unnoticed by God. At times people think differently but in the end the answers will come. We were all born into this world with free will to make choices and live with consequences. If you have a religious belief to hold on to when times get rough you will be at peace.

  5. An excellent post! Yes, once we really accept the peace of the will of God into our lives, we can be at ease with many things which this world “dishes out.” He has promised to never leave nor forsake us ever…(Hebrews 13:5), so this is a true comfort to the believer! He will work all things together for good for those who love Him…
