Follow up post on my blog post – Can you make God’s work into a business.

Good evening my lovely followers, it has been awhile, I’m sorry.

I would like to write this post to follow up on my previous post: Can you make God’s work into a business.

I was thinking about this post for the past week and today it passed my mind again. When I checked my blog website, I received a reply from one of my followers. See the comment below:

http://shopgirlanonymous.com: There is a line a believe. God gave you knowledge to write a book, to spread to the world. The book profits are his blessings to you, however much the worth or however meager. What you do with that money that the lord has blessed you with is the real issue. Take care of yourself and and your family, be sure there is food on the table a roof over your heads. Be sure you are able to provide your children with the opportunities to do great things in his name, if that means university tuition, so be it.Where we fall short is when we seek beyond God’s calling. Do you focus on Prada or philanthropy? Money can be the root of all evil, but it doesn’t have to be. Any excess funds can be donated to causes you feel God is calling you to impact. You could do great things in his name, help many people travel, eat, study, and seek shelter.

Now there are the preachers who drive in Cadillacs and Corvettes, or live in ostentatious mansions, while reaping in the millions from their massive following. Are they evil? No. They are human. Sometimes we forget that even those who are leading us in God’s world are only as human as we are.

Anyway, I hope this helps place some things in perspective.

Thank you for this reply it made some things clear to me and put something’s in perspective.

With this I would like to apologize if my previous blog offended anybody, that was not my intention. It was just a question that came up, not to judge at all.

I’m happy with the reply I received, we are definitely humans and make mistakes (this includes me) I believe our heart is what is important when we serve God and to be faithful with the money he blesses us with doing his work. Money earned this way can definitely bless other people if we use it wisely. For the glory and advancement of his Kingdom and to provide for our families and people in need, nice and fresh way to look at it this way.

I found these verses and think they are a good fit to share with this post.

Proverbs 11:18 – (KJV) The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

John 15:5 (KJV) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Let’s make sure we all stay in Jesus , nothing more important in life. Praise the Lord.

God loves you much❤️

  1. That was a good reply. I guess the question is our hearts. What are we doing things for?

If we can afford to have a comfortable life, why not? But then we can also see the heart flow through the fruits of our lives.

In a conference, someone asked the speaker why the church was huge and looked like a hotel. They said the money used to build the church could have been used to donate to charities. The speaker said it’s relative. The big church that was built can accommodate thousands of people and among those people many souls are saved. Can we put a price on that? No.

It’s all a matter of perspective.

  2. Very much glad to read this. The same things (judging others) most often prevented me in serving to God. But clear is that, like we are, they are also the children of God. 🙂

  3. I’ve heard many people criticize christians for flashing their riches through big house, fancy cars, jewelry, etc.
These material things in and of themselves are not wrong, but like everyone is saying here it’s where the heart is. If you can afford a Prada purse and it’s not a stumbling block in your life in serving the Lord, then go for it.
Things can become idols for some people and those same things are just fine for other people.
God deals with us all individually and I believe his spirit convicts us when we are out of line.
Money can very quickly screw us up and pull our attention away from the Lord. We have to guard against it with the help of our Lord.
    Great post!

  4. I’d agree with you on this. Not all people with a lot of money are evil. There are people who have earned their millions through a lot of hardwork, and share a portion of it with charities.

  5. I like the thank-you note to G-d on the front of the post. It’s so true that we often receive what we need, rather than what we want, and that often even the bad things were diversions from even worse things we were removed from.
