What is the meaning of focus?

1. a subject that is being discussed or studied : the subject on which people’s attention is focused – 2. a main purpose or interest – 3. a point at which rays of light, heat, or sound meet or from which they move apart or appear to move apart; especially : the point at which an image is formed by a mirror, a lens, etc.

So are you to focussed on your circumstance and because of your focus it seems as if God is not there and is not helping you?

Well let’s look at the following verse:   “The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.” Exodus 30:21-22

God provided a cloud by day and pilar of fire at night, exactly opposite of their circumstance at the moment. Completely different from their environment ( circumstance) at the time. Inmagine this: you are ready for a day at the beach, you have your sunscreen and a towel and your favorite float for the water it’s a beautiful day and you are ready to enjoy it. Now there comes a cloud that God send your way to protect you as he did in Excodus for things you don’t even know. Now do you see the cloud he sent your way as a blessing? Well I would probably start to be negative, oh no my perfect day is ruined – why does this always have to happen to me bla bla bla. Focusing on the circumstance and not God’s blessing behind it. In Excodus he provided the cloud for protection of their enemies but who would look at a cloud during a beautiful day as something positive?

Now how many times do we do this in our own life, when we are going through serious trials? When it hurts, when it’s uncomfortable and all we want is to get out of that situation? How often do we look around and just because we expect God to provide as we see and regognize – in harmony with our environment, we do not recognize his blessing because it’s contrary to our environment? Result we become negative, discouraged and ready to give up.

God promised us that he will never leave us our forsake us and that he will never fail us. Deuteronomy 31:6. God’s ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts for ourselves. Isaiah 55:8-9.  We might never understand his plans in the moment however he promised that his plans for us are for our good not to hurt us but to give us hope and a good future. Jeremiah 29:11.

You see in Excodus God provided contrary to the environment the people were in, however because of it they reached to their destiny save – their God promised land. God had done exactly what he promises in the verses I mention in this blog and more.

You see the problem is not God, the problem is our trust in him and our focus on the circumstance instead of on God. When Peter walked on the water everything was going perfect until he shifted his focus from Jesus on the storm and wind, his circumstance – he started to sink. When he called out to Jesus, Jesus stretched out his hand immediately and Peter was restored. Jesus replied ooh you of little faith, why did you doubt me? You see Jesus plan, protection or presence did not change, it was Peter who changed his focus and faith. Matthew 14:22-33.

God says that we should trust in him with all our mind and all our heart and that he will direct our path, he even says that if we believe in him that he can change anything meant for bad into good, for those that love him.  Proverbs 3:5-6 and Romans 8:28.

God is not someone we can use to get our own will in everything, that is the worlds way not God. This life is only for a time, a test in which we may decide what road we choose. However God will work things out in our lives for his purpose and if we allow and follow him nothing in this world can overcome us. Jesus already overcame the world and nothing is impossible for Jesus. Genesis 50:20 and John 16:33

God says that if you have faith as little as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Matthew 17:20. And if you don’t have faith? Well ask God and he will give it to you freely. You see there was this man in the bible and it was not going well with one of his kids so he said Jesus IF you can help us please. Jesus said why do you say IF???ANYTHING is possible for he that believes. The man replied and said well Jesus I believe, however help me to believe more. Mark 9:20-26. You see he asked Jesus to give him faith.

I’m a perfectionist, this does not mean that I think I’m perfect, don’t get me wrong please. The perfectionist attitude, I also had towards the things and living for God. I tried to be good and perfect and would be disappointed every time I failed. It was frustrating and it made my walk really hard and I just could not do it, so I would give up. Now I’m not saying we should not want to serve God in the best way, we should. However we have to rely completely on God and not ourselves and we should ask him to help us at all times. God’s grace for us is enough because he is strong where we are weak and without him we can’t do anything good but with him all things are possible. 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Matthew 19:26

Additional; We should live by faith and not by what we can see- trust God completely. Matthews 2 Corinthians 5:7. God is here with us every step of the way, he carries us in the palm of his hands – caring for us like NOBODY else ever can. Isaiah 49:16

So my question to you now is: what do you choose to focus on, Jesus or yourself???

God loves you much❤️
