Let us Love……………

How easy is it to really love someone??? Easy right?? Sure -when someone acts the way you want them to its no problem , love flows like water. If someone loves you and showers you with attention the love flows like water.  However what if…………

What If someone hurts you, intentionally or with no intention to hurt you, how easy is it to love now? This is defenately one of my weaknesses. Like I said in my about me, I will write about the good things of me and the not so good things.

Today one blogger send me the following verse ( thank you!!!)         1 John 4:7-8:

God Is Love. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

This verse stayed with me today and it made me think. It made me really think, how many times have I failed to love people?? More times than I even want to think about. And here – I’m talking about my family and friends, they know I’m not the easiest person when it comes to this part. ( I’m sorry 😁) However it just shows me how much I need God each and every day because without him I’m no good.

And what about all the other people? People I don’t really know. How well have I loved them? What about that homeless person that needed food but I was to busy to stop and pay attention. What about that single mother that was at the end of her tolerance of it all and just needed a break. However I was to busy with my own kids to care to offer that helping hand. What about that person that was close to breaking down and needed that encouraging word, however I did not feel a 100% myself so why would I encourage someone else. What about that elderly person that needed help and was lonely, however I did not feel like spending time with this person. I could go on and on and on however at the end I failed to love.

God says in: Matthew 25:35-40

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
WAW – so this means that I did not take care of Christ.              Jesus who died on that cross for my sins, Jesus who suffered for me to be able to go to heaven. Jesus who loves me even when he knows that I sin and will sin again, however he still accepted the cross in hopes that I would accept God’s grace for my salvation. However I did not feed him, clothe him, invided him, comforted him, visited him and gave him something to drink when he was thirsty.

That is just crazy, how can I be so careless and have a heart of stone after all the love God showed me? When I’m in need I call out to God and he still comforts me, feeds me, clothes me and so much more. Why is loving so hard for us and so easy for God? Why does God care about people like us?

It just opens an whole other chapter of love for me, one I can’t understand. His love is unconditional and I tried to love unconditional and let me tell you I failed and I still fail in this area – this unconditional love is so hard.

We look for this love in many people however non are able to love us in this way outside of God. God created us to need this love and the only one that can fill that love is God. We can search the entire world for this love and will never find it outside of God.

We look for this love in many things, people, music, hobbies, material things and so on, however it never fills us. It was created for God’s love only and only God can fill it with his own love.

Will I ever love perfectly? I can’t outside of God, I need God every step of the way and even so I may fail. Do I want to love like that? I sure do however the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. The bible says: Matthew 26:41

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
So we should pray at all times in order to be able to do any good. Philippians 4:13 says:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Meaning to say that we should have a relationship with God and Jesus to be able to love because God is love and we should love one another for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Do you feel bad with all the pain, hurt, hunger and bad things that happen in the world? Well start to love one another, how? Start to love God ask God to come into your heart and give you a new heart, ask God to teach you how to love. Just feeling bad for your loved ones and the world because you failed to love them once more wont make a change. Only God can make good changes however he can certainly use me and you to make amazing changes and each person through God with one change can change the entire world.

1 Corinthians 13 says:

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part,  but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Praise the Lord.

God loves you much❤️

  1. And isn’t it interesting that the first fruit of the fruit of the Spirit that St. Paul lists is … love. One commentator went so far as to say ~ and I believe he is right~ that love is the font of all of the other virtues. Great article!

  3. Such an interesting story…..we never have any idea as to what the “CREATOR” will take us through and what we will be allowed to go through so that our journey will touch and testify for others who will have to travel the same journey.
I will conclude wit this. there will never be anything stronger than faith.

    1. Thank you for reading my blogs, I really appreciate it. God knows that our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak, so he understands we need his help in doing right. Sometimes when I want to be good on my own it’s really hard but then when I ask God to help me he gives me new strength and wisdom. God is amazing and loves us so much. I’m happy you like my blog, the praise goes to Almighty God. May God bless you.
